Piping Engineering
ATSI’s Mechanical and Piping Departments are staffed with engineers, project managers, designers and drafters with the flexibility to be assigned to specific projects which allows ATSI the ability to customize a design team with the specific expertise and depth necessary to accomplish any project, from very large, detailed programs to more moderately sized projects.
ATSI is well versed in checking code compliance of systems to the ASME B31 piping codes, including the B31.3 Process Piping Code and the B31.1 Power Piping Code.
We also have the experience with the design and analysis of large diameter pipelines and penstocks, such as those found at hydroelectric power generating facilities.
Because of ATSI’s multi-disciplined engineering capabilities associated, integrated service packages can be provided that include:
- Pump or compressor sizing/selection
- Piping network flow analysis
- Heat exchanger/pressure vessel analysis specification
- Specification of valves and other in-line components
- Design of foundations or piping/equipment supports
- Electrical equipment drawings
P & ID’s or other instrumentation/controls related engineering.

2D & 3D Modeling
Using the latest 3-Dimensional Computer Aided Design packages and advanced piping analysis software, ATSI can deliver complex piping designs with rapid turnout of spool drawings or fabrication packages. Services we provide are:

- Bills of Materials
- Spool Fabrication Drawings
2D & 3D Plant Design
ATSI provides all 2-Dand 3-D Plant design using AutoCAD 3-D and 2-D with Bentley AutoPLANT overlay on top of the AutoCAD drawing. P&ID’s store data in a centrally shared project database and the data are used for Line List, Instrument BOM and Valve BOM Equipment is Modeled 3-D with “smart nozzles” and piping is routed 3-D from predefined pipe specifications, with Pipe Spool drawings automatically generated using “lsogen”. Structural steel and pipe supports are modeled 3-D and an “Auto BOM” is available.
