Summary of Scope of Service
ATSI was selected to design a production kettle safety system for the client's Niagara Falls, NY plant. The purpose of this project was to add additional levels of safety to a batch-loaded resin production operation. ATSI worked to develop process monitoring requirements to be designed into the new control system. ATSI specified all control and process instrumentation equipment, provided purchasing, performed construction management, and assisted in startup. ATSI performed PLC programming and screen development in support of the project. Process engineers at ATSI reviewed existing batch recipes and incorporated them into the control database. PLC I/O count included 232 digital and 21 analog points. HMI system consisted of 32 screens.

Low Phenol Novolac Resin

Summary of Scope of Service
A phenolic resin producing client selected ATSI to specify the process design requirements to add a high-vacuum step to an existing operation. The purpose of this new step was to reduce the product residual phenol content. ATSI developed the process requirements to produce the new product. ATSI performed the calculation to determine the operating conditions and scrubber requirements to maintain vents within the approved air permit values. Based on the recommended operation, ATSI specified all process equipment, provided purchasing support, performed construction management, and assisted in startup.
